You can talk others into doing your bidding. Normally you may only use communication to convince denizens with no wits during a dispute.

  • Manipulate: You gain a bonus on persuade checks. Pick a target and gain an extra bonus on all social checks against them. Once you choose a new target you have a penalty against the previous target.

  • Default Evolutions
    • Blame Dodger: You gain a bonus retorts, and you may use a snap to gain an extra retort until your next turn.
    • Internal Strife: You may use an social attack action to convince someone else's follower. If you succeed the target is no longer a follower. You may also attack a denizen that isn't a follower, and a success makes them combative towards a target of your choice.
    • Tempting Bribe: You may make a negotiate check to fix the price to make an individual do a task. If you succeed you discover the cheapest price, either in currency or something else the target desires. If you can pay the price, the target will perform the task. If you fail you get a reaction penalty from the target.

  • Special Evolutions
    • Passive Aggressive: When you succeed with a retort, your attacker suffers their own voice effects.
    • Compromising Diplomat: In place of your voice damage you may learn what your target desires (at a minimum) to stop a conflict. If the desire is unreasonable (referee's call) then he or she suffers a reaction penalty for the remainder of the encounter.
    • Impeccable Manners: You may use your communication score for dodge and refuse defenses.
    • Deft Bureaucrat: You gain a bonus at any check involving laws, legal authorities, bureaucracy, or administrative functions. You ignore the restricted keyword.
    • Master Chef: You can use a project to prepare a meal, and spend 1 set of supplies to feed people equal to your success margin. If you spend 1 focus everyone that eats the meal gains 1 focus.
    • Pain Soother: You can use an action and roll communication against a target. If you succeed your target recovers a resolve marker and grit equal to your success margin.
    • Humble Beggar: While you are strapped you gain a bonus on all negotiate checks.
    • Neutral Bystander: You may become hidden in any crowd of 10 or more neutral denizens, and any area adjacent to a denizen grants you cover from being spotted.
